Zimbabwean rapper Saintfloew is set to headline this year’s Shoko Festival Mash Up Night alongside Voltz JT and Mugaratia at Harare Gardens on 25 September.
Saintfloew will headline the event for the first time, joining Voltz JT, Mugaratia, Xiba and Bulawayo-based artist Bhila on a line-up celebrating Zimbabwe’s urban music scene.
Saintfloew has been enjoying a strong run following the release of chart-topping singles such as Uchazondida and Gucci N Dior while also establishing himself as a notable live performer.
“I can’t wait to tear up the Shoko stage.
I’ve been waiting for this moment!
This is going to be a really unique performance so don’t miss it,” said Saintfloew.
Voltz JT, known for his social commentary and thought-provoking lyrics, will return to the Shoko stage as a headliner, while Mugaratia makes his comeback after performing at the festival’s 2024 Peace in The Hood concert in Chitungwiza.
Mash Up Night curator Dennis Shoko said the event was designed to showcase the different forms of Zim Hip Hop.
“When putting together the Mash Up Nights lineup, the idea was really to celebrate ZimHipHop in all its different forms,” said Shoko.
“These are artists who have shaped the culture, artists who are carrying it forward, and audiences who have grown up alongside the music,” he added.
The performers will be backed by full live bands, adding a different dimension to their performances.
Mashoko Tapes will also return for its third edition, featuring Supermuno, Millz Million, Easy Ice, Luigi Badgenna and Hooksmith.
DJ MadeHerBelieve will round off the line-up.
Now in its 16th edition, Shoko Festival is Zimbabwe’s longest-running urban culture festival and is organised by Magamba Network.
Early-bird tickets cost US$10, while tickets at the gate will cost US$15.
