Natasha Thahane has revealed that she got over 1 million from the Government thanks to Baleka Mbete.
The actress revealed this during her interview with MacG’s Prodcast & Chill. Natasha, who is the granddaughter of Desmond Tutu, told MacG that when she went to study in the US in 2017, she need help to finance her studies at the New York Film Academy and that she reached out to Baleka who then allegedly reached out to the department of arts to arrange the money — in excess of R1m — that went towards Natasha’s studies.
Thahane was born in Orlando East to Trevor Thamsanqa Tutu and Nomaswazi Mamakoko. She is the granddaughter of Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
She moved to Cape Town where she attended Milnerton High School.She went on to graduate with a degree in accounting from the University of Witwatersrand. In 2018, she completed a 1-Year Conservatory program in Acting for Film at the New York Film Academy in Manhattan.
