Barely a year after one of the country’s biggest disaster Cyclone Idai, heavy rains are reported to have destroyed infrastructure in Chimanimani.
The Manicaland Province has has been hit by heavy rains during the week which have left a trail of destruction.
Reports from Chimanimani highlighted that Muuya and Biriri bridge were washed away after these rains.
The incessant rains washed away a detour at Biriiri Bridge No. 1 cutting off Wengezi, Nedziwa and Bvumba from the rest of Chimanimani.
Chimanimani was affected severely last year with a number of schools and roads being destroyed resulting in the area being in accessible.
