Michel de Montaigne once said, “I do not care so much what I am to others as I care what I am to myself”. People thought Soul jah love had Pride when he was alive, but its only now they realise Soul jah love was a principled Man who had values that helped him to built a legacy and reputation that lives on today. In this walk of another sad write up of Soul jah love, as Zimupdates crew we compiled 3 things Soul jah love never did when he was alive.
1. HE NEVER GAVE UP ON BOUNTY LISA.
The late Zimdamcehall chanter Soul jah love and Bounty Lisa were Romeo and Juliet back in the days, the two were inseparable and no one expected anything to go wrong. However, misfortunes followed Soul jah love and in a blink of an eye he lost Bounty Lisa to another man who went on to have baby with her. Love is strange they say and such is applied to Soul jah love who went on to release a song called “Hatisiri tese”, which he dedicated to Bounty Lisa who had just gave birth to a baby. Allegedly his fans from the lyrics of the song were quick to notice how Soul jah love was still attached to Bounty Lisa. With this, one can be forced to expose the fact that Not giving up was something Soul jah love never did when he was alive because he never gave up on love.
2. HE NEVER GAVE UP ON MUSIC DESPITE BEING SICK.
Soul jah love when he was alive, the news of him falling down from a stage or just falling would spread like veld fire with many quick to say drugs caused it. However, the true story of it came out when he died. As reported, Soul jah love would force himself to perform or even work on a song despite being sick the goal being to entertain his fans. As a person who was diabetic, it was becoming to much to bear for him, the rejection and the hate was too much. With mere words when Soul jah love spoke no one would really pay attention but after his death people notice that Soul jah love all along spoke his life experience through his lyrics. As noticed by many, the man was sick but he would choose to perform on a wheel chair. His love for music surely was unconditional.
3. ASK FOR HELP.
The late Zimdamcehall Chanter was a man of few words. He had many relatives and fans who would help him if he had raised a finger but as a man who had a reputation to protect he reserved his pride and never bothered many people but only people around him.
The late Soul jah love was a man who had a positive impact on the youth of Zimbabwe and he will be remembered, his music and legacy will live on.
